Senior Data Engineer

Do you love turning messy, fastmoving data into reliable, highvalue products? Do you want your engineering work to power real decisions in energy trading? And do you enjoy collaborating with sharp, ambitious colleagues who move quickly and care about outcomes? Then you may be our new Senior Data Engineer at ENZEE Commodities A/S.

At ENZEE Commodities A/S, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building robust data solutions that drive real-world impact.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data engineering and energy trading, where your contributions will directly support strategic decisions and cutting-edge AI initiatives. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement – while enjoying a dynamic workplace with clear growth opportunities.

What you will do

We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer who can design, build, and maintain our data structures.
More precisely, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, highperformance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks, with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, observability, and costefficiency.
  • Translate complex business requirements into optimal technical solutions by selecting appropriate data models, transformation logic, and data architecture patterns.
  • Define and structure data models that are fit for purpose across analytics and machinelearning use cases.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Traders, and analysts to align on dataflow design, transformation strategies, and the ideal dataproduct outcomes.
  • Deliver highquality, wellcurated datasets for model training, inference, and finetuning – prioritizing consistency, reusability, and documentation.
  • Partner with stakeholders across trading, analytics, and operations to understand domain challenges and translate them into robust, automated data workflows.
  • Monitor and operate pipelines to ensure data integrity and trustworthiness; proactively observe and optimize for performance, quality, and resilience.
  • Establish and champion best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, CI/CD for data, documentation, and traceable data lineage.
  • Advance data governance and security through your engineering work (e.g., access control, auditability, privacybydesign).
  • Collaborate with other data engineers; provide architectural guidance and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

You will help shape this role, and we value your ideas on how to make it a success.

How you will succeed in your role

    pipelines.
  • Deep handson experience with Azure Data Services, including:
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Azure Databricks
    • Azure Data Lake Storage
    • Azure SQL Database
  • Solid understanding of data modeling & data architecture, enabling processing of complex datasets and supporting both reporting and ML.
  • Strong SQL and experience with structured and semistructured formats.
  • Proficiency in Python for transformation, orchestration, and data quality checks; experience in C# is a plus.
  • Data modeling & database design experience; familiarity with modern patterns such as medallion and dimensional architecture.
  • Integration experience across diverse sources (APIs, relational databases, flat files, documents).
  • Operational excellence: you’ve handled missing data, failing jobs, and schema changes; you implement alerting, logging, automated tests, and graceful retries.
  • Azure security knowhow (e.g., Managed Identities) and secure access patterns.
  • Familiarity with DevOps & CI/CD for data workflows (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with orchestration, observability and testing of data pipelines.
  • Exposure to cataloging & lineage tools (e.g., Databricks Unity Catalog).
  • A proactive, solutionoriented mindset – you improve processes, challenge assumptions, and design based on wellfounded facts.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to explain complex solutions to both technical and business audiences.
  • Empathy and resilience when navigating diverse stakeholder needs and evolving priorities.
  • Team player who enjoys a collaborative, trustbased, learningoriented culture.
  • Fluency in English (proficiency in Danish is a plus).
