Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated person who is interested in the power markets to join us as Quantitative Analyst for our Day-ahead team. Holding this position, you will have the chance to apply your previous experience and skills in a professional and collaborative environment, surrounded by highly skilled traders and other analysts. Your coding skills and expertise in Python and VBA will play a pivotal role in our trading activities.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of power market data, including supply and demand fundamentals, regulatory changes, weather patterns, and geopolitical factors, to identify trading opportunities.
  • Tools: Develop, maintain, and optimize trading tools. Create codes that support our trading decision making.
  • Risk Management: Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the trading portfolio, including position limits, and stress testing.
  • Model Enhancement: Continuously refine and enhance trading models through back testing, data analysis, and optimization techniques to adapt to evolving market conditions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining a strong adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and insights to senior management, detailing trading performance, risk metrics, and market trends.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance trading strategies and technological infrastructure. Be the main contact person for the Day-ahead trading desk.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor accesses for Day-ahead trading and ensure that the trading platforms are functioning correctly.
  • Technical Support: Resolve any technical issues that arise with the trading tools.

Qualifications and Requirements

As a candidate, we expect that you:

  • Hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree such as mathematics, mathematics-economics, statistics, economics, or related disciplines.
  • Have strong quantitative and analytical skills to interpret complex data and make informed trading decisions.
  • Have proficiency in programming languages such as Python and VBA. Experience with R, API, or C# is an advantage.
  • Can identify trading opportunities based on analysis and risk assessment.
  • Have a deep understanding and interest in financial and energy markets.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills, can pay close attention to detail, and adapt to evolving marketing conditions.
  • Have strong communication skills to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
